Current Student

Attending Alabama A&M University has been an incredible experience, especially connecting with the culture. As a historically Black university or HBCU, A&M offers a unique and diverse atmosphere that celebrates Black culture and history. Making it a home away from home. The campus is filled with many student events and activities to the variety of clubs and organizations you can join. I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Biology Club, which has opened up so many opportunities for networking, learning, and personal growth. The school truly fosters an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and culturally.

Campus life was vibrant and full of opportunities to get involved. I loved participating with Greek and social Greek organizations. The sense of community during events like Homecoming was one of my favorite aspects of my time there.

Outside of academics, I’ve started exploring the many student organizations and campus events. Whether it’s attending social gatherings, sporting events, or joining clubs, there’s always something happening. This has allowed me to meet a wide range of people and make friends with similar interests, helping me feel more connected to the campus community. Overall, my freshman experience at Alabama A&M has been everything I hoped for and more.

The Alabama A&M University Department of Public Safety (DPS) provides campus security with sworn officers on duty 24/7. The university focuses on maintaining a safe environment through security measures and emergency systems. The campus also has emergency phone/alarm devices and late-night transport/escort services.

Alabama A&M University offers a selective honors program for academically exceptional undergraduate students. The Honors Program provides challenging coursework, research opportunities, and a vibrant community.
