I had a great time when I attended Allegany College of Maryland. I had attended for my associates degree in nursing. While attending the campus I did my clinical hours at the hospital that was right across from the street. I feel that the curriculum was fair and challenging which has helped prepare me for my career.

My instructors are hand-on and helpful. The variety of assignments is excellent and the overall experience is amazing.

Never be intimidated by your teachers. Always ask questions, this is big. Don't think that a problem will fix its self. Keep a section to record your grades to make sure each class has the right percentage for you.( don't be afraid to do this because teachers can make mistakes and its ok to tell them about it. I promise they wont get mad at you.) Try to show up to your class early. Never put off your studies. Do not text in class.

Don't overwhelm yourself, take advantage of the online classes, pay attention and study.

My experience at Allegany College of Maryland (ACM) has been both rewarding and transformative. ACM provided me with a supportive environment to explore my interests in multimedia and technology while also allowing me to grow academically and personally. The small class sizes fostered strong connections with my professors, who were approachable and genuinely invested in my success.

Current Student

I am a high school senior and ACM partnered with my school to allow seniors to take early college courses for free. The courses are offered through ACM but they are taught here at my high school by a member of the staff here. This way, students can get ahead with their college credits while staying on our campus and not having to go to ACM. This opportunity has been a great learning experience and it's helped me a lot to prepare for how my college courses are going to be next year. The online platform ACM uses is user-friendly and the curriculum is challenging, yet accommodating for the busy schedules of high school seniors.

I feel the instructors wanted us to succeed. With this being an on-line LPN-RN program and most students working as full-time nurses already this program makes it a way to keep your job and be a full-time successful student.

Campus and vibes

Current Student

My overall experience with Allegany College of Maryland started out rocky, especially being a freshman in college. Over time, I learned to adapt to my environment and made the best with what was around me. Campus lifestyle and academic life proved to be challenging, but it had its good moments as well. Teachers that I had were very lenient in terms of turning in assignments and being practicing patience.

For students who say college is not for everyone, they lied Allegany has something for someone. Staff at Allegany are there to help, all you have to do is ask for the help you need. Resources are everywhere on the campus and it
