Student reviews

Professors

Student

It is a highly education-focused school. They are incredibly expensive, but for good reason. You get the best and most integrated learning experience in the Baton Rouge area.

Student

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is a fantastic option for a student whose focus is on quality education over sports or the party scene. Though the campus is small with less course options than an SEC school, the professors are very invested in the students’ success and well-being, and the programs help students to build meaningful professional connections and gain real-world experience.

Student

The nursing school will have you prepared for exams and Nclex. The school is costly but as long as you have the grades you don’t have to worry about being accepted.

Campus and vibes

Student

My overall experience with Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University has been very positive. I appreciate how supportive the faculty and staff are they genuinely want students to succeed and are always willing to help. The smaller class sizes make it easier to build connections, ask questions, and feel seen instead of just being another number.

Student

I am starting college in August. I have friends and family who have attended FranU. When I went for prep day everyone was very friendly. The college staff were extremely friendly and constantly stated there is an open door policy.

Student

Overall I really enjoy it it’s a great small school. I have learned a lot so far during my time here.

Student

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is a great place to start your life after school. While applying to Fran-U they made it one of the easiest experiences I have had. All of their employees are there to only help us. After all, Fran-U is one of the best schools to help you get to your future.

Student

Definitely not the school for someone looking for a large "party" school but for those looking for closer, genuine connections it's great! I loved all my teachers and felt like a person, not a number, not to mention everyone (even the students) are always so happy to help! While it's not a big party school, they did have many fun events like the annual crawfish boil.

Cost and value

Student

Since FRANU has no sports teams, it is nice to see the tuition you pay go to your academics and upgrading the classrooms. Parking is included in tuition, which is unheard of elsewhere. The classes are small with the largest class being maybe 40 people. When I was an undergrad at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, some classes would be 200+ people.
