Student reviews

Campus and vibes

Student

A beautiful campus full of rich history. Professors care for students and are involved in there sucess. The people on campus to the locals make it a friendly, caring environment; a home away from home.

Alumni

I went to Hillsdale College during the early 2010's and I had the absolute best experience possible. The classes were far more challenging than high school, but the level of students, even most of the athletes honestly as well, were so high. The campus is small but very well maintained and the change of seasons there offered a wholly different feel to the campus every time of year. Over all, I think anyone considering Hillsdale should give it real consideration. I grew to love the campus, it's staff, students, and faculty more and more every year I attended and still think very fondly of my time there.

Alumni

Hillsdale is great, except for three key areas: 1. There are professors that are unnecessarily difficult and will torpedo your GPA if you take them and 2. The social scene lacks because you end up seeing the same 30-40 at the same parties every weekend and lastly 3. The college and surrounding area get really grey and depressing from November to March. Other than those three things its wonderful.

Student

Hillsdale College is perhaps the most friendly and welcoming campus in America. If your worldview includes traditional Christian values, marriage between a man woman and the sanctity of human life this is the perfect college. The professor's are engaging and curriculum rigorous. Please note the one star reviews on this site are generally from liberals who have never set foot on the campus and have nothing better to do than bash an institution trying to make the world and better more compassionate place.

Cost and value

Student

Not super pricey for a private school, and an incredible value for the level of education they give you. Financial Aid is really generous, keep in contact with them and you'll be set.

Student

Hillsdale has an incredible scholarship program, and the financial aid people are great to work with. The experiences on campus are worth every penny that you will pay.

Student

Hillsdale is worth every penny. They are extremely generous with financial aid, so few students end up paying the entire $30,000 a year. Even if you do, that is substantially cheaper than most universities. Hillsdale offers a unique education you cannot get anywhere else. Make the investment in your future.

Student

Financial aid helps pay for most of the student bill, relieving the burden. The value of the education is $54,000 but the college fund raises every year to knock down tuition to $30,000 for each student. Very reasonable for the quality.
