Professors

Iona University has a lot of amazing programs available for students. I'm currently apart of the TRIO SSS program. The TRIO SSS program offers a ton of information from both peers and mentors that understand the challenges and goals of first generation students, individuals from low-income backgrounds and even students with disabilities.

Junior

The teachers are very professional and supportive and are open for office hours.

Campus and vibes

Within my first month at Iona University, I loved how before the first day of classes we had two orientation days, so we got to meet other freshmen. The orientations provides us with important informations like emails, due dates, scheduled activities that will going on the school. The involvement fair that was there was pretty helpful because it gave us freshmen a chance to be involved within our school clubs and organizations.

Going into Iona University was a very challenging experience, going from High School to now College, but Iona made it smoother for me. They offer a lot of support for students overall but especially for students like me who are first generation, hispanic, and low income. I also loved that the community is active and there's a million ways to get involved even while being a commuter.

Junior

I had an amazing experience at Iona University, where every moment was filled with enriching experiences and lasting connections. The active campus life offered numerous opportunities for personal and academic development. I was challenged to think critically and explore new perspectives by engaging professors and diverse coursework.

Junior

Beyond the classrooms, I discovered a welcoming community of peers who made every day enjoyable. I felt a strong sense of belonging by participating in campus events, joining clubs, and attending sporting events. Iona University's picturesque campus, combined with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, contributed to an overall improving and fulfilling college experience.

Applied to all the scholarships, and then applied to Iona University. I took a tour of Iona University. The minute i stepped onto campus i knew this is exactly were I needed to be, this is exactly where I would thrive, grow, be motivated and feel INSPIRED.

Student

Here at Iona the diversity is so real, the community is so welcoming, there are so many opportunities for you to grow.

Junior

I enjoy it now and I am more involved on campus and have met so many amazing students I didn’t know before. I recommend getting involved on campus whether it’s a club, sports, Greek life, etc. You definitely have to get involved especially if you are a commuter.

Cost and value

Student

The biggest criticisms are the cost, low quality of education and lack of internships/jobs programs. Iona is way overpriced (and not just by a little), and did not assist most students with internships or jobs (the exceptions being the athletes).
