Student reviews

Professors

Student

Class sizes are small, but consequently, clubs typically have less than 10 members. Students may feel disconnected from others, especially in online courses. Online/virtual courses were by far the weakest part of my education at Ivy Tech. I'd like to see more in-person options for courses because they are often spaced a year apart (e.g. a course only offered in person for the spring semester).

Current Student

Ivy Tech provides amazing career services and career preparation to their students to help uplift impoverished students, as well as help the community fill demanding rolls. Something that I would like to see improve is the level of involvement of professors in online classes. On campus professors are dedicated to their student's success, however, I cannot help but feel like this is missing from many of their online classes. Success is entirely possible with online class; it is just a matter of how badly you want it because you are nearly on your own.

Student

In my experience, the Ivy Tech instructors are dedicated to making sure every student understands the course content and strives to help every student succeed.

Campus and vibes

Current Student

Ivy Tech Community college is a great first-time school, especially if you are a first-generation student like me. This school is very understanding of students that do not have much to work with. Their online classes are intuitive, and their campus classes are fun and engaging. One of my favorite things about this school is amount of understand and support that they provide for their community.

Cost and value

Student

Ivy Tech is an affordable way to earn a certification or an associate's degree. It is also an inexpensive way to complete your general education courses before moving on to something else. I know that Ivy Tech offers pathways to other degrees, such as their Pathway to Purdue for agriculture students.
