I fully regret ever having stepped foot in the admissions counselor's door a few years ago. I, like many others, were told that CACREP accreditation (which is very important in the Master's of Counseling world) was "in progress" and "should be soon"... . For me, that was enough to enroll because, why would they lie if they were in the application process? I asked a few times throughout my program, and was met with hostility and defensiveness from Deb Bilzing and others. Now as I look for updates on the website, there is not a single mention of CACREP, which leads me to believe they are not actually pursuing this. This makes my degree next to worthless for accepting the biggest insurance plans and means I cannot easily move out of state and have my degree counted. This is a wildly unethical practice that has cost me... $60,000. The advisors are ill informed and act as though you are bothering them with any questions. I have never regretted anything more than attending this grad program.

A few tips for prospective students: do not let the school being in the middle of a corn field scare you away, it is better than one would think. Do not be afraid to try new activities; it is a great way to meet new people and make some friends. Don't forget to be yourself; college can be a lot like high school when it comes to personal issues and such, but don't be afraid to let your real self shine, most people like that better than you trying to fit in.
