LeTourneau University

LeTourneau University is a great college. I have taken four of its dual enrollment classes, and I have visited the campus and met with several professors in my intended field, mechanical engineering. It has excellent one-on-one teaching opportunities, and the instructors take pains to ensure that no students are left out of the learning process. It also accommodates my faith as a Christian college that applies biblical teaching to its curriculum. My only complaints are the price of attendance (it is a private college) and the fact that the campus is in the less secure part of town. Otherwise, I consider it an excellent choice for undergraduate students pursuing a technical degree.

Letourneau University has a welcoming community, a cozy campus, and great professors. Any degree here is hard-earned. There is a thriving culture of fellowship between the professors and students. That being said, it's not perfect. The facilities department is severely understaffed, and there is a clear disconnect between student-athletes and the rest of the student body. Ironically, the only professor everyone dislikes is in charge of professor audits, so despite his horrible course evaluations he will be sticking around. LeTourneau University is a thriving private Christian University located in Longview, Texas. It has many wonderful attributes mainly being its professional professors and welcoming atmosphere. LeTourneau is packed with kind people who will say hi and have a conversation with you on the spot. The professors will do the same, along with their professional duties, making sure to keep their students the top priority. They teach well and make sure the students are on track to successfully complete their degree. The community at LeTourneau is one of a kind and all are welcome!

I have done dual enrollment online and loved it. Was an amazing program. I hope to be in the resident's full time program soon.

It was a very easy application. Just filled out generic information and sent in my transcript and that was it. No essay needed.

the food is not bad at letourneau, but it is also not fantastic either. there are only two main options on campus; therefore, the options become bland and boring fairly quickly. the hive, located in the student center, provides quicker meals for students on the move all day. many students prefer to eat their lunches here as well as late night snacks due to the extended hours on this option. the hive also offers cafã© options with scone, muffins, and other pastries with a full menu of hot and iced coffees, teas, and shakes. the meal plan also applies to several option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hive. the corner cafã©, or saga as many students call it, is the main option that has typical college cafeteria hours for all three meal times. saga offers a variety of choices including a salad and sandwich bar, grill, pizza and pasta, fire and spice, cereal bar, mom's kitchen, soup bar and dessert bar. a variety of cold and hot beverages are also offered to accompany meals. thee corner cafã© features buffet style eating and seating includes, tables, booths, and bar seating.

Dorm life here is great. There is a big community on campus and the daily life of the students is very important to LETU staff. They make sure we are all well cared for and have plenty of room to spread our wings to do crazy things.

The main cafeteria has a variety of choices for students. A typical day might offer the following selection: Breakfast: Bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereals, yogurt/granola, lots of fresh fruit, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, pastries, toast, cinnamon rolls, and waffles. Lunch: Burgers, Chicken, Pizza, Asian dish with rice, pasta, home-style meal (meat loaf, fish, etc.), full salad and sandwich bar, soups, ice cream, and a variety of desserts/cookies. Dinner: Similar to lunch items, with different selection Students can also use funds from their meal plan to buy food from the student center (aka the Hive) during lunch, after dinner and in the evening/ night. This menu includes burrito wraps, taco salad, pizza, coffee/hot drinks, ice cream, a variety of pastries, and a whole lot more.

So far, I love it! I'm an incoming Freshman, but every campus visit has been fantastic. I am excited to live on campus in the Fall. It seems to be very safe. It's not a large campus, which I like. Everything is laid out clearly. I think it's a fantastic school with rigorous academics and vibrant student life.

The environment around LETU is one that was stressed a lot when I first came into this school, family. The schools main emphasis is making sure you feel like you have a second family at this school, and I feel like my friends here are my second family. The entire staff is welcoming and will know you by name. If I went back and had to choose colleges again, I don’t think I would choose a different one.
