Maryland Institute College of Art is a great school for any emerging artists who are deeply invested in their academic growth. While large social events may be few and far between, classes are small and foster cooperative relationships and the professors really make it worth it. I’m starting this year with MICA, however I’ve lived in Baltimore all my life and have been waiting to get in. The campus and surrounding area is full of local lifer and art. The community is very supportive when it comes to preparing undergraduates and graduates.

About Maryland Institute College of Art

MICA provides campus safety through its Campus Safety Office and Baltimore Police. The college issues timely warnings about serious crimes and maintains a public crime log. MICA has expanded its reporting area to include the Bolton Hill neighborhood.

MICA offers opportunities for students to customize their studies by combining a major and minor, adding internships, professional project-based coursework, study abroad, or community-based civic engagement. Students can also take courses at other Baltimore colleges and universities, including Johns Hopkins University.
