Student

If you want to build on experience go to private classes in the city. Most students are new to the field or recent graduates. Good connections and most teachers are amazing. Aside from a few comparing students and lack of administration support there’s good

Student

Great teachers and technique that opened me up as a performer. Life-changing work. I found the instruction and guidance uplifting and fun to do. I also was offered many great opportunities and avenues for my career. I’d love to go back and study full time.

Student

The staff and teachers are really nice and hands on with you 100% through your studies of different tech quotes

Student

What I like about my experience in this school is that the teachers here really do give us insight in the acting industry. They help us with techniques and help us with our craft.

Student

About to graduate from their 2 year Film and TV program and have learned so, so much. The teachers are all working professionals, second year is entirely on camera, we engage in mock auditions and self tapes, and finish fully prepared to enter the industry. The new administration is extremely supportive and communicative, and they are making leaps and bounds in creating healthy environments and supporting students mental health. I’ve had the best experience and would recommend it to anyone!

Campus and vibes

Current Student

As an incoming freshman I do not have a lot of experience with my school. When I visited it was a very pleasant experience. The staff welcomed me and made me feel comfortable as I am not from the area. I was given a detailed tour and any questions I had were all answered. Very excited to start!

Student

This is my first experience getting accepted in the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts this year and I Love it so much they are very welcoming and very supportive. I love that they saw something in me. It's going to be my first semester this fall and this means a lot to me.

Student

While of course, like any other schools, NYCDA has its flaws. However, I personally know the school works diligently to fix them and they are determined to create a better experience for every student, teacher and member of faculty. I truly believe that within just a few years NYCDA will be one of the best Film/TV schools to get into in the country. NYCDA understands when they make mistakes and they do their very best to correct them. I think we should all take pride in learning from our mistakes, rather than repeating them. NYCDA is on the way up!

Student

Below are pros and cons. I was a MT student. Overall, my experience was pretty good in means of well rounding myself and my goals. The first year is all about vulnerability, finding your intuition, and beginning your journey. The second year is more about improving your skills, business, and auditioning.
