I’m currently a full time in person freshman, with an on-campus job and I love PLU!! I’ve been interested for a while but being on campus is just so much better!! Classes are small with amazing professors who really try to make everything accessible.

Campus and vibes

Junior

Going to Pacific Lutheran University was one of the biggest decisions of my life, and thankfully one of the best decisions! The students and staff are so friendly, and I was able to find a home away from home on campus. It is a great learning environment, and it's easy to stay on track with online and in-person help available.

Current Student

As an incoming freshman to PLU, I am extremely impressed with how comforting and communicative they have been. PLU has made my application experience, acceptance, and overall time absolutely wonderful and I am thrilled to be attending!

Current Student

I had the chance to study away and my professors and staff in the Wang Center made the process easy and exciting. As for working on campus, PLU staff know that you are a student first and will help you if you ever need to switch around hours for class or an extracurricular event.

Student

I love PLU and how welcoming it is to students from all walks of life. It prioritizes diversity and equity in so many ways, from gender-inclusive housing to accessibility and accommodations and more.

Cost and value

Junior

Because it is a private college, the tuition is more expensive than a state university, so one thing that I'd like to see different in the future is more financial aid opportunity for students.

About Pacific Lutheran University

While the campus itself is considered safe, the surrounding neighborhood has a reputation for higher crime. PLU has implemented measures such as perimeter cameras and police patrols to protect students. Students feel secure on campus but advise caution when venturing off campus, especially at night.

PLU offers opportunities for student-faculty research and creative projects, fostering a more intellectually rigorous and world-informed environment. The university has set out three pathways to academic distinction: global education and service to the world, student-faculty research and creative projects, and helping students discern meaning and purpose in their lives.

PLU values diversity and inclusivity, fostering an inclusive community where students from all backgrounds can thrive. PLU students come from 35 states and 30 countries, with 48% being students of color. The university offers study away programs both locally and globally, with access to Financial Aid and Scholarships.
