Student reviews

Current Student

Rider offers a small yet very beautiful campus for students to enjoy as well as fun activities for students to be involved in, yet they always put academics before anything. They also offer a lot of programs for mental and physical health, and the people are, for the most part, nice and fun to be around.

Campus and vibes

Junior

The biggest change many would like to see is the way administration runs the school, especially the debt Rider is facing. I can't speak too deeply on the subject, so I recommend prospective students do research before committing because I was unaware of the issue before attending. I believe the administration should ensure they're debt-free soon, as it impacts the trust between the students and the Adminsitration. I also want to see some big changes in the environmental aspects. Rider has done great work towards its Net-Zero by 2050 goal, but they can go further. Food waste, clean energy, all these things could be improved upon.

Junior

As for what I like, I like how the campus is involved with each other. Numerous clubs cover a wide range of interests, allowing students to find their niche within Rider and easily connect to others. Greek life is also a huge part of the culture on campus. That creates another environment for connection that people can engage in.

Current Student

Although I am only a college freshman, my experience at Rider University has been pleasant. I have had a lot of fun not just through socializing, but getting involved with their radio station through sports reporting and broadcasting. The housing situation could've been better, but it is understandable since my dorm hall is new for this year.

Current Student

Besides that, I feel way more involved on campus at Rider University then some upperclassmen feel at a bigger college, and on top of that, my house is only 45 minutes away in case I need to stop back home for the weekend.

About Rider University

Rider University prioritizes campus safety with 24-hour security patrols, emergency phones, and escort safety rides. The Department of Public Safety is staffed by trained officers who patrol the campus on foot, in vehicles, and on bicycles. The university also has emergency notification systems to alert the campus community in case of significant emergencies.

Rider University offers both a Baccalaureate Honors Program (BHP) and a Business Honors Program. The BHP is invitation-only and focuses on interdisciplinary seminars and a senior thesis, while the Business Honors Program emphasizes teamwork and critical thinking within a business context. Both programs provide special advising, priority course registration, and co-curricular opportunities.

Rider University welcomes international students from over 54 countries, comprising approximately 5% of the student population. The university offers visa support, including F-1 student visas, and provides resources through the International Students Club. Undergraduate international students are guaranteed housing for their freshman and sophomore years.
