Student reviews

Professors

Student

I look back on my time at Rockford University (formerly Rockford College) with fondness. It provided a solid foundation for both academic and personal growth. As a psychology major, I appreciated the supportive professors and a well-rounded curriculum that explored key areas of the field. The faculty were genuinely invested in student success, and the close-knit campus community made it easy to feel connected. My experience there prepared me well for the future and created lasting memories I’ll always carry with me.

Student

I look back on my undergraduate career with fondness. Rockford was academically challenging but the teachers were very helpful and the intellectual environment was stimulating. I made life long friends, earned a scholarship to a prestigious graduate school and felt that I was well prepared to compete with other students from all over the world. I will always be grateful for the time I spent at Rockford.

Campus and vibes

Student

Rockford University has been a solid experience overall. Class sizes are small, which makes it easier to build relationships with professors and get help when you need it. Most professors are approachable and genuinely care about students who put in the effort. Everyone I interacted with was nice, and there were no fights or scenes while I was there. Everything felt normal and safe. If you need academic help or accommodations, the school does provide support. The food was mid, not terrible but not great either. I was a commuter, so I wasn’t on campus 24/7, but during the time I was there, everything was fine. The biggest downside was having to pay for student insurance every semester even though I was barely on campus. Dealing with that process was frustrating and unnecessary. Rockford University is a good option for students who want a quieter environment, small classes, and supportive professors, but there are some administrative and cost-related things that could be improved.

I love the student life and all of the activities by the school or student’s partnered with being a small school it really does feel like a community. The school always has an event or giveaway to help students feel at home and enjoy themselves. The classes and professors are great I’ve never even heard of a bad professor in my years here they are all always willing and available to help you at the drop of a dime.

Current Student

Rockford University welcomed me with open arms. I come from Washington State and all my professors were very accommodating to me by making me feel that as if I am at home. I also joined the baseball team for the University and my teammates have created a family atmosphere. I feel conformable around my teachers, coaches, and classmates, and campus is a safe environment.

Current Student

I'm having a lot of fun there. They have more events and clubs than Rockvalley does. Last year I went to an alumni event where current students could meet former students. I also looked into joining cross country on the same day. Unfortunately I found out that I would have to devote a lot of time to practice. However with work and school I decided not to join.
