About Southwest Texas Junior College

The Southwest Texas Junior College Police Department is dedicated to promoting and protecting a safe campus environment. The department has fully certified and licensed Texas Peace Officers on the Uvalde, Del Rio, and Eagle Pass campuses. The college also contracts with RAM Security to provide Level 3 Armed Security Officers on the Del Rio and Eagle Pass campuses in the evening hours and on weekends.

The Honors Program at Southwest Texas Junior College provides progressive opportunities and innovative challenges to highly motivated, intellectually gifted, academically well-prepared, and exceptionally creative students. Honors courses include components such as interviews, critical thinking activities, research techniques, technology usage, and outside reading. Instructors who teach an Honors course receive College Service Hours and are featured in the Faculty Spotlight.
