Student reviews

Professors

Freshman

The professors are outstanding. The size of the school allows students to really connect with their professors. The food is not great, the party scene is minimal but still there, and the senior administration staff are not the most responsive. Despite this, the school attracts a diverse population in which students of all beliefs and backgrounds coexist.

Freshman

SU encourages and dotters peaceful and mature discussions with between students and faculty of different beliefs, unafraid to ask hard questions. Moreover, the career center is OUTSTANDING at helping students prepare for the future, from taking headshots to helping with grad school applications. Last year (CO 2023) ALL students on the pre-med track were accepted into med school, a testament to the kind of preparation the school provides for the future.

Student

It’s a very small campus with small class sizes, probably 30 students in my largest class and 15 in my average class. Campus culture is busy, there’s always something going on. I enjoy the professors I’ve had, but I think the price is a little much.

Campus and vibes

Alumni

This school has been exceedingly average. For the high tuition price, I did not receive very much either academically or socially. Class sizes are small but in my experience not very rigorous. Georgetown is very sleepy and there's not much to do.

Alumni

It isn't a bad drive to Austin though if you were in interested in the party scene there. Athletics are DIII and the football isn't great, even at that low level. If you do choose Southwestern and decide that it isn't the place for you, I would recommend transferring to UT Austin or another large school.
