Student reviews

Professors

Student

It's somewhat difficult to get into the engineering program, and more difficult to get into the Scholar's program, which offers free classes during the summer and paid campus research (as far as I'm informed). If you don't get into the Scholar's Program through the freshman admission process and still want to be in it, you must end the first semester with a 3.8 GPA or above.

Campus and vibes

Freshman

There's always stuff to do at Stevens whether it's clubs, sports, student organizations, etc. It's easy to find out what's happening, when it's happening, and where it's happening through DuckLink. Also, all the staff and teachers that I've run into have all been caring and supportive and I feel like I can reach out to them whenever I need help.

Freshman

I've loved the overall atmosphere on campus in regard to student comradery and engagement. The physics department in particular is quite passionate, and I'd say one can find like-minded and driven students on campus with ease. The student clubs are welcoming, particularly the Dramatic and Physics societies, though some clubs like the engineering club do have their hierarchies based on experience on campus.

Student

The campus life is eh, many of the clubs meet very late at night and as a commuter student, going to them is almost impossible if I'm not sleeping over at a friend's place. So far the professors have had a ton of past experience/ credibility in my chosen major, no one too nasty or mean and generally fair in their teachings.

Student

Amazing school full of creative and competitive intellectuals. If you're looking for an academic challenge, but also some fun then Stevens is for you. Being in Hoboken and not even five minutes from the city provides you with so many opportunities and activities.

Cost and value

College Student

I applied early decision, and Stevens allowed my financial aid package to come with my decision, and then allowed me time to accept or deny based on the amount of financial aid I received. They give financial aid to over 90% of students.
