Student reviews

Professors

Current Student

My experience in Purchase College was great. One thing that was remarkable to me is the professors support to help students. The professors were highly responsive to students, whenever we needed assistance in our assignments or with other concerns outside of school.

Current Student

Let me preface this by saying that, at least in terms of computer science, it's pretty easy to get through your degree here. I'm in the second semester of my first year and my degree report says I'm 51% done. It is very easy and convenient to view class and degree records as well.

Campus and vibes

Current Student

SUNY Purchase is a vibrant and creative campus where the cultural clubs truly set the tone for the fun. There’s always an event, showcase, or community gathering that makes the school feel lively and welcoming. The professors are skilled in their fields and genuinely invested in helping students grow in their area of study.

Current Student

The campus is generally decent if you find your community. However, it's not very diverse for poc, and in the art and design department, the courses could be more up-to-date and address topics that many other institutions cover. Still, you will grow to love the environment and the professors, and you will appreciate who you eventually become as an artist.

Current Student

One thing I loved my first year, was that they pair you with a peer mentor that helps you to settle in. The past few years have consisted of ups and downs. I don’t think I’ll ever meet a more diverse and interesting group of people in one place, the way I have here.

Current Student

Purchase College is a wonderful place for those interested in the arts and liberal studies. There are concerts almost weekly and there is always some sort of art, theater, dance or film showing going on. It's super easy to put on any sort of production since people will always be down to participate for free.

Current Student

The courses I have taken over the past semesters examine a diverse catalog of films and in-depth discussions on international and national social and political periods throughout media and history. However, Purchase lacks an enriching community for on-campus students. The dorms are poorly maintained, the meal plans and on-campus food options aren't sufficient, and in a couple of instances have made multiple students sick.

About SUNY at Purchase College

This project helps students see that they are able to do research or start a business.

SUNY Purchase welcomes students from 36 foreign countries, fostering a diverse and global community.
