Professors

Touro University is a great college. The classes are small so professors know each of their students. Most professors are great about answering emails in a timely fashion, and are happy to write letters of recommendation for graduate school applications. The academic advisors are great so make sure to speak to them and ask them all your concerns. There are many pathway programs and scholarships that you can only apply for before you are enrolled in Touro so make sure to speak to a staff member at Touro to find out all your options before applying. I do wish more classes were offered at multiple times, but since it is a small school many classes are only offered once.

This course follows the year of General Biology with a focus on the human body. It provides the background for comprehension of many of the elective Biology courses. During this semester we will study human anatomy, physiology and some pathologies with emphasis on the regulation of physiological processes. This first semester we will be concerned with the structural organization of the body from molecules to basic tissue types and the structure and function of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems, including sense organs. Throughout our discussions we will explore the mechanisms available to the body for maintaining a steady state, i.e. homeostasis.

I hope you find useful the review of someone who is currently enrolled in this college. It's very hard for any college to hire 100% of teachers who care about students' education. It's impressive how 35%+ don't care. This college have some strengths to compensate that, and I seriously advice them to really focus on improving the systems and services they have to place students in a good starting job. Understaffed, discriminative, sometimes racists, they hire bad tutors, bad staff, they hire their own students. The guy in charge of helping you with you CV and applying for jobs, is only one guy, one charge of 5000+ students, who's too busy to really help. Mediocre.

I appreciate the commitment to helping students and the strong connections with alumni. These qualities are not just slogans at Touro University; they are realities evident from the moment you step into its environment. My experience has shown me that Touro is more than a place to earn a degree—it is where growth, community, and opportunity intersect in meaningful ways.
