Student reviews

Campus and vibes

Sophomore

It’s an amazing school with a great community. All the professors and workers will work with you with any problems. I recommend this school to anyone. It’s an amazing Christian community with many groups for Bible study. Also there are so many available clubs and it’s easy to recommend one.

Student

Get involved! There are so many opportunities that everyone should take advantage of.

Student

umhb is a great university to grow and learn. it is a private university that is faith-based in every aspect of the school. the teachers and students are extremely friendly and make you feel at home within the first week of coming to the university. i would suggest being financially prepared before coming here so you can focus on your studies instead of where the money will come from. the university is tough and you will spend many hours and long nights in the library but it is all worth it.

Student

I would advise you prospective students to come to one of the Preview Weekends! You get to stay in a dorm with a current freshman so you really get to experience the things that you would experience in your first semester at UMHB. I would also encourage you to try to visit during a game weekend for football or other sports so you can experience the school spirit. Ask your admissions counselors lots of questions! They will answer anything and everything to make sure that you are able to make the best decision possible.

Student

If you're on the edge about coming here, just say yes already! If you think Mary Hardin-Baylor is some uptight, Baptist school, you're wrong. There has been so much stuff to do here that I can hardly keep up with all the activities. If you miss an activity, there are more to follow, trust me.

Student

I graduated from UMHB in 2003, met a fantastic guy, and married him as quickly as possible. I now work at UMHB, and both of my children are students here. It's been interesting to recall the process of registration, housing, and financial aid when I was a student and see how that system has evolved, but one thing hasn't changed.
