Professors

Overall, I really enjoy being a student at UWO. For academics, I always feel as if my professors love what they teach and love teaching it. I can tell they are invested in their fields of study and really enjoy teaching. I do think that I need to take so many classes though, that are not related to my major.

Junior

As a small school it gives you a lot of opportunities to get involved and enter high level positions for on campus jobs and clubs. The professors and staff on campus are so amazing and understanding for the most part. You get the same if not better education since the class sizes are smaller and some professors have already worked in your field! It is also affordable and a small tight nit community!

Campus and vibes

Junior

My experience at UWO has been very positive and helpful with preparing me for internships, connections, and other opportunities. The professors here are amazing and care for the students. The student life is okay and it’s very easy to get connected around campus.

Student

I just really like my campus and the freedom i get from living there. The only thing i don't like is that some professors aren't the best, but it's just a personal opinion.

Student

I would recommend to every student to get involved in the student government. It is a flawless way to meet new people, have fun, and help the university. It is also extremely important to be aware of your own needs and attend to them. If you are having any troubles with your roommate, your floor, or even a friend, talk to someone. Never be afraid to reach out to your Campus Advisor, academic advisor, or the professional advisors located on campus. They will always help you to fix a situation.

Live in the freshman village, NBC! It's a great experience and everyone is going through their first year of college together. The NBC staff is so helpful, and together everyone helps each other get through the tough parts of college.

The recreation center is only a few years old and is FREE to all active students. There is always parking available to commuters and/or students who want to keep a car on campus or a free (with student ID) bus transit throughout the entire city. Were right on the river so fishing for the day or renting a kayak can make a warm sunny day enjoyable. Finally, Oshkosh is in the middle of lively cities: Appleton is only a 20 minute drive while Green Bay and Milwaukee are about an hour.
