VanderCook College of Music offers financial assistance to 100% of its full-time undergraduate students, with the Financial Aid staff working to maximize aid through scholarships, grants, and loans. The VanderCook Scholars Program provides a four-year free tuition scholarship to eligible high school seniors who demonstrate high academic and performance levels. While tuition is paid in full after federal and state grants, recipients are responsible for housing expenses and associated fees.

VanderCook College of Music has a moderately difficult admissions process, requiring a high school transcript, essay, interview, and three recommendations. An audition on the applicant's primary instrument or voice is also required. The college considers standardized test scores, but they are not required. The application deadline for freshmen is August 1st.
