Yavapai College

I have taken a few online classes through Yavapai College and every single class I have had the most helpful teachers. I also applied for the Radiology Tech program but, unfortunately, I did not get into it. Nevertheless, I had a really good experience and was able to meet with the Program Director, Richard LeClair, to review my interview scores.

The college provides a variety of student resources conveniently located, such as tutoring centers, libraries, and computer labs, often housed in the same building. Online courses at Yavapai College are designed to be accessible, with professors who actively communicate and accommodate student needs. Mental health support and study resources are also readily available to support student well-being and success.

Yavapai College’s transfer programs are recognized for facilitating smooth credit transfers to four-year universities, particularly Arizona State University. While transfer advising has room for improvement, many students find the process manageable and appreciate the college’s support in this area.

Online classes are generally viewed as convenient, with clear course structures and responsive instructors, though some students prefer in-person interaction. This flexibility makes Yavapai College a practical choice for non-traditional students and those needing adaptable learning formats.

Yavapai College’s nursing and healthcare programs are highlighted for their rigor and strong job placement opportunities upon completion. Students in these programs report challenging coursework and demanding schedules but appreciate the preparation for immediate employment. The college supports students in these fields with internships and clinical experiences that facilitate career readiness.

Yavapai college is the greatest community college I have ever been to. The staff in admissions, financial aid, disability, and the testing center have all been so helpful and responsive. When I had issues enrolling in classes because of my selected major, Carly Galyon, Academic Enrollment Advisor cleared that up immediately.

Disabled students receive poor treatment if they don't fit it. School systematically steals 'in-state' tuition for the first semester. I will secure my degree from this school because I've already invested a lot of time and energy here.

Admissions is not transparent- When I was interested in coming to the School, the student services rep rarely returned my calls. When I showed up, I was not prepared for what happened next. They are out of Compliance with the Department of Veterans Affairs because the owner of the flight school was enrolling all veterans mostly and was turning a sick profit from it.

While some campus updates have caused minor inconveniences, the overall physical setting is considered pleasant and conducive to learning.
