Student reviews

Professors

Student

I really enjoy Bellarmine. It’s a hands on deck university with it being private, you are able to get the better learning experience from professors. The faculty and staff are very nice and knowledgeable about anything you ask, and are willing to give the help and support you need to become the best person you can be. Whether that is for your career, your studies, and/or personal life.

Student

My overall experience at Bellarmine University has been exceptional. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew I'd found a community that aligns with my values and goals. Academically, Bellarmine has challenged me with engaging courses that prepare me for my future career. The professors have been supportive and knowledgeable, providing personalized attention that has helped me grow.

Campus and vibes

Student

The professors, students, and faculty are Bellarmine’s most redeeming quality. The majority of people are super friendly and personable. But the environment around Bellarmine is sometimes downright disgusting. Facilities aren’t well taken care of outside of Centro (the welcome center) and things are frequently out of order, broken, and dirty.

Cost and value

Student

I love the small school in a big city environment. However, the main problem I have with the university is that it says it values student feedback but often does not listen to it. For example, there is going to be a tuition increase to enroll students in a compulsory textbook program where we pay $500 every semester to have all of our books given to us online at the beginning of the semester. This is frustrating to me as well as many others because very rarely do any of us come close to spending this amount on textbooks.

About Bellarmine University

Bellarmine University is praised for its safe campus environment, with students reporting feeling secure walking alone at night. The campus police are described as friendly and responsive, offering services like free rides to dorms during late hours. The university's commitment to safety contributes to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all students.

Bellarmine's Honors Program is designed for high-achieving students from all majors, offering a rich set of academic and extracurricular experiences. The program includes smaller class sizes, thesis projects, and opportunities for study abroad. Honors students also benefit from living in honors housing and participating in community-building activities.

Bellarmine University welcomes international students and provides support through international student services. International students are eligible to apply for Honors scholarships and must demonstrate English language proficiency. The university also requires documented evidence of the ability to fund the cost of attending Bellarmine for one academic year.
