Student reviews

Professors

Student

Make sure you attend class, and ask questions if you need help.

Student

You should always do your homework, even if you don't want to. Doing your homework will show the teacher that you're trying and it will help your grade as well. Don't come here to just party, nothing comes good out of parting 24/7, one in a while is OK as long as you're getting stuff done as well.

Student

Keep focused on your education and get yourself out in the community.

Campus and vibes

Current Student

I currently attend Ferrum College. It was not even one of my choices for college but I needed a college application for my senior portfolio in high school. I was accepted and was able to participate in the Ferrum Foundations program for first generation college students. That was fun and the food during that week was great.

Current Student

I was lucky enough to be put in a dorm room in Bassett with an AC unit. However, the vents in the bathroom looked like they had never been cleaned. After that one week of good food it sucked and then they switched to Aladdin which is either really good or really bad and is a cycle of more or less the same foods every day.

Current Student

Diversity is pretty high. Most dorms are gross and have no AC and are freezing in the winter. Athletics are good. They have no regard for students mental health at all and sweep assault and rape accusations under the rug.

Current Student

Most professors are cool. 30 mins from any food and 1 hour from Roanoke. Some fun activities sometimes. Parking is a pain.

Student

Boredom is an option at Ferrum, it's what you make out of your experience. Join clubs and if there isn't a club you're interested in you can't go to student leadership and request to start a new club.

Student

Don't be lazy, get out and walk around the campus, get involved in activities. Get organized, you will have assignments due at different dates, so keep up with them and you'll be a star.

Student

You have to be dedicated to the campus if you really want to go there. A lot of my friends have failed out because they did not care. Bring rain boots and winter jackets because it gets rainy and cold.
