Admission into the Criminal Justice program was fairly easy. I had to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a written essay of someone who inspired me and why I wanted to do this program. The only tips I offer is to write a well thought out paper and have someone look over it to make sure there are no spelling or grammar problems.

Student

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is a great school for me because it offers strong academic programs, a supportive learning environment, and opportunities that align with my goals. As a Supply Chain Management student, I value FGCU’s focus on practical, career-ready skills and connections with local businesses that provide internship and networking opportunities.

Campus and vibes

Freshman

Attending and committing to a university is a decision not to be taken lightly. There were many factors taken into consideration when accepting the school I planned to live in for four years of my life. Location, number of students enrolled, financial responsibility as well as majors offered were all contributing factors in my decision to attend Florida Gulf Coast University.

Alumni

It was difficult to be admitted to the university because the admission officers take a long time to examine all the documentation. I applied for admission almost 3 months before the deadline of the application of my nursing program, and I had to personally go to the university the day before the deadline to talk to an admission officer because I was going to miss the deadline. Despite my 4.0 GPA in high school and college I took them 3 months to admit me to FGCU.

Student

Overall, my experience at Florida Gulf Coast University has been very positive. I appreciate the strong sense of community, approachable professors, and the real-world focus of many programs, especially in hospitality and business. The campus is beautiful and creates a welcoming environment that makes it easy to get involved and feel connected.

Student

Beautiful smaller school ethically designed to limit the negative impact of the school on the gentle surrounding ecosystem of Southwest Florida. Essentially it's all the pros and cons of a smaller/new school with the added benefit of being located in a vacation destination. Most aspects of the school are frankly average for a smaller university: academics, student life, party scene, and professors.
