Student reviews

Student

I know that Galen has a lot of bad reviews, but personally I enjoyed my time at Galen in the Richmond, VA campus. I liked how small the campus was so it was easy for us to get a hold of our instructors, our dean was always present, the down side was that on the final semester we don’t have practicum, just another med surg clinical, but I didn’t mind since I’m already an LPN, but it would be nice for the traditional ADN/BSN students to have practicum to feel more independent outside the classroom setting.

Student

Galen is a great school. I received my undergraduate degree from NSCC and was able to transfer all pre reqs in after passing the teas. Four years ago I finished my Bachelors degree at a local HBCU and let me just say Galen is top tier. From the time of application, registration, enrollment, starting classes, and reaching out for help.

Student

Galen is a very focused school with only nursing programs. There are no clubs other than a leadership club, which is primarily focused on volunteering for and at the college. We only ever talk to the other people in our cohort; we do not mix a lot with other programs unless we work with them somewhere else.

Cost and value

Current Student

My experience at Galen has been quite well. I like the learning environment of the school and the classmates that I have met thus far. The only thing I would like to see changed is a drop in tuition costs. It's already hard enough keeping up with classes, assignments, and tests, and now add in another stressor on top of that, worrying about how I'm going to pay for this quarter?
