Student reviews

Professors

Student

The opportunities for art students were very good and the environment was very open and connected. Classes are mostly small around 12-20 students per class, leading to a more closely connected experience between peers and teachers. The teachers are highly knowledgeable in their fields and are flexible in learning to make sure every student has a chance to be the best they can be. Many art events are held to showcase student work and helps build an active community.

Student

I'm currently a sophomore and I definitely feel like I made the right choice! Like any other art school, the work is pretty rigorous, but I can tell I'm growing so much as an artist every day. My work has changed dramatically these past two years! The professors have been great, and really do care about you as a person and an artist.

Campus and vibes

Student

I transferred out of Moore after my first year, but I hear a lot from current students too. The only things I can compliment it on was the diversity, walkable area, the therapy programs (i loved them if you can get in), and the teriyaki salmon and icecream (and Some of the cafeteria staff).

Student

As an AGA Senior, I’ve had a pretty decent time here. Most of my professors are very skilled in their field, and are open to critique. The food here is pretty okay if you aren’t a picky eater, and the Sartain dorm spaces are perfect if you want some solitude, with the only downside being the lack of air conditioning.

Student

Truly, here at Moore, you have to cultivate your own experience. I was lucky to find a solid group of friends freshman year that are considerate and aware of the world around them. Moore is a predominantly white institution, so as a Black student, it was important for me to find a group of like-minded peers. There are still mocroaggressions (none that I have personally experienced), but if you vet your peers correctly you should be safe.

Student

The community is very welcoming and I've found some amazing friends. Being involved on campus is also super easy, and there are so many opportunities to do something fun! Like any other college, it has its problems. However, all of my problems were able to be fixed pretty quickly. I trusted my gut and I've had a really great time so far! I definitely feel like I've made the right choice.

Student

It's really gratifying to see my progress from when I was accepted to now. It's also really easy to get involved in the student community because it's pretty small and tight knit. Within the first month of being here freshman year, I already had a steady friend group, 2 campus jobs, and was in the Visionary Honors program.

Student

It's one of those places where if you're meant to be here, you get that feeling in your gut that tells you you're in the right place. Obviously, MCAD isn't perfect, but what college is? The issues I've run into have all been fixable or just minor inconveniences.
