About Salish Kootenai College

SKC Campus Security personnel are noncommissioned security staff who can issue parking tickets and authorize removal of persons or property. Criminal incidents are referred to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Law and Order or the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. SKC Security is available to provide an escort from any point on campus back to Student Housing.

SKC provides opportunities for hands-on learning and research, preparing students for success in their chosen careers while honoring their cultural heritage. The college's unique mission to serve the educational needs of Indigenous peoples tailors the learning experience to Native American students. SKC students have the opportunity to participate in the NASA CubeSat program.

While SKC primarily serves Native American students, it welcomes students from all backgrounds, including international students. The college values the rich perspectives that students of all ethnicities, ages, and origins bring to campus. SKC's student body includes students from Canadian Provinces.
