Student reviews

Campus and vibes

Student

Colby has always had a great sense of community. Like anywhere else, Colby has it's problems, but I was always impressed by how the community came together with humanity to overcome the inevitable difficulties that arrive. In addition, the academics were world class and focused on pushing students towards excellence. I absolutely owe my professors at Colby and the institution overall a ton of credit for all I've accomplished in my career.

Student

There's great academic and academic focused opportunities that is superior to other colleges of similar size. There is a competitive athletics scene. However, the school is located in a rural area, limiting the city potential. As well, parties are hosted by athletic teams, and the athletic teams are very clique based.

Student

Heavy party/drinking/hookup culture, but easily avoided if desired -- you don't feel left out or socially ostracized if you don't party. Food, housing, etc. are all adequate, general daily social life and culture are phenomenal, students and professors are great, academics are strong. Lots of opportunities for professional and personal growth, trying new things, having fun, meeting people, etc.

Current Student

I’ve enjoyed my two years at Colby, the administration could certainly be more in touch with the students wants but overall good communication and on campus life

Current Student

Love the new dining services. Professors are amazing. Parties could be better. I've had no problems with housing.

Current Student

The people at Colby are honestly so special. I had met some of my best friends here. I would categorize everyone as a “doer”, always looking for the next adventure
