As, an transfer student, I applied with sports scholarship within the athletic Department coaches. I wish there was more support in academic courses as having an team study groups, with having the same classes with teammates. The clubs are interactive by having events on-campus throughout the semester.

The academics courses can be hard or easy it depends on the professor. The students are nice & all. I meet students who were planning to transfer or planning to with reasons like sexual assault, roaches, mice, mold in dorm residences, attempt care theft, food poisoning, or transfer courses.

An former worker said the school was caught for theft embezzlement, fired most the staff during the pandemic. Nearly, closed the school to be sold to high point university. Some teachers or advisors will go above & beyond for you. There are others do not even try at all, resulted in an failing grade or barley passing.

I love the community and how we all come together when we need something to change. I also love how small it is, which allows us to have such a tight knit community.

About Salem College

Salem College Public Safety officers have the authority to ask persons for identification and to determine whether individuals have lawful business at Salem College. Reporting campus incidents and crimes can be done by calling Salem Public Safety at (336) 917-5555 or extension 5555 from any campus phone, or by making a report in-person at the Public Safety Office located on the lower, rear level of Main Hall. In the event of an emergency, students may also dial 9-911 from any campus phone, which will directly connect them to the emergency communications center for the Winston-Salem Police Department.

The Honors Program at Salem College offers academically talented students a community that pushes conventional scholarly boundaries to promote excellence. Honors Scholars interact with peers, prominent scholars, writers, business professionals, and community leaders to advance their critical thinking skills and their knowledge of the increasingly diverse world in which we live. Honors students regularly take classes that have a health leadership focus and do health-related research projects.

Salem College has an international student population from Nepal, Ethiopia, South Korea, Mexico, and Myanmar. The college offers need-based college-administered scholarship and grant aid to international students. International students attending on an F-1 Visa can stack the International Scholarship with Academic scholarships.
