Professors

Student

I was rejected the first time that I applied for the MFA programme at SCAD. I was told there was a 41% acceptance rate. After attending a couple years in the undergrad and earning a second bachelors degree, I was accepted to the MFA. My tips for admission would be to have a really quality demo reel if you are a film student or excellent portfolio for other majors.

Student

SCAD is my dream school and I love it. They have incredible networking and overall good professors. They go on a quarter system, so to be a full-time student, you take 3 classes per 10-week quarter (3 school quarters and 1 summer quarter if you do summer classes), making it easier for studio classes (there are a lot). It is so much work, but if you work hard and communicate with your professors, you won

Campus and vibes

Student

I will be attending SCAD in the fall and am very excited. The campus is beautiful, located throughout the city. The enrollment process was easy and quick, I received my acceptance letter and phone call two weeks after I applied. Their admissions staff is very efficient and always replies quickly if you have questions. I cannot wait to officially be apart of the SCAD family.

Student

They really do go and sit with every student individually and get to know them, and show how much they care for all the students. College life is awesome as well! SO many opportunities to meet people, in school and outside in the working field, like interviews and presentations, and the student life, everyone is very open and welcoming to you, and just super great being there. There’s even a class called FYE (first year experiences) that truly helps you, with informing you on their mental health techniques, safety, security and campus life. Which overall, I really love SCAD.

Student

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a place that strives to instill a sense of belonging and independence within their students, as a school that exists within an already thriving community, Savannah. With their multiple facilities and student resources, SCAD activities are always happening and adding to the unique experiences of their students. If you were to choose SCAD, there are two things you will struggle with the most—making the events that you choose (out of the 20 or so that happen daily) count and secondly, knowing when to sleep!

Cost and value

Student

SCAD is by no means an easily affordable school. SCAD is a private school and its tuition and fees alone is approximately $36,000. Put together a good resume and a stellar portfolio and SCAD will most likely deliver. It also helps to fill out FAFSA. In the end, work closely with your admissions advisor and they will help you with the application process. You may have to re-apply.
