Professors

Current Student

The university has a problem with retaining professors in many departments, leading to a bad academic experience. The mathematics department is a good example where my professor resigned a week before classes started and his replacement was horrible. The school does a poor job at engaging students without much of a community sense.

Umaine is a great place to learn; there is always somewhere and someone to help with your education. I am majoring in Civil Engineering, and even though it is the first semester, I am already enjoying my classes, and my professors are very enthusiastic. They also offer great help and have plenty of time to answer my questions.

Campus and vibes

Current Student

I really like the University of Maine. It has good teachers, lots of clubs/extracurriculars, and a good student life. However, the only thing that I would like to see change is the quality of the residence halls, because, some of them don't get cleaned as often as they should, but other than that, they are pretty good.

i’m very happy with my experience at the University of Maine so far! I’ve met any new people from all over the world and have learned so much from my classes.
